An alias email is additional email addresses connected with the same Microsoft 365 Outlook email account. All emails share the same inbox, contact lists, and calendar at no extra cost to the mail account owner.
As long as you have an Administrator Role access with the Office 365 / Microsoft 365 Business subscription, you can easily create an alias email. Or you can provide this information to your IT Administrator. Check out the short video.

Create an Alias Email Address
Complete the following steps to create an alias email using Microsoft 365 Business Subscription. Instructions for Outlook.com, visit Support Microsoft.
You must have Microsoft 365 Administrator Role access.
There are two ways to log into the Exchange Center.
Option 2: First Click Admin Center icon from the Office 365, then click select Exchange located in the left navigation.
From the left navigation, select Mailboxes, then select the user who needs an Alias account. The user profile appears. Select the profile’s Mailbox tab and choose Manage Email Address Types.
To add an alias account, choose the +Add email address type.
Click on an SMTP (Simple Transportation Management Protocol) at the email address type.
Enter the email name to populate the alias email address, then click on the drop name menu to choose the domain name.
If you want the alias email address to appear as the default sender when replying to a message, check the box for Make this the reply address. Otherwise, the primary account email address appears as the default sender. Note: When creating or responding to an email, you can choose which alias to use in the email header From.
To accept your settings, press Ok.
Review the email address to ensure the account’s accuracy then, click on the Save button to create the account.
A confirmation screen displays the success of the creation.
Edit the alias email address
You must have Microsoft 365 Administrator Role access.
Navigate to the Exchange Admin Center from the home page Microsoft 365 Admin Center, select Exchange located in the left navigation.
From the left navigation, select Mailboxes, then select the user’s name. The user profile appears. Select the profile’s Mailboxtab and choose Manage Email Address Types. Notice, the email address shows the assigned account as the primary sender, which may differ from the primary mailbox account.
Click on the Edit button associated with the alias account.
Make the changes and press Ok.
Review the email address to ensure the account’s accuracy then, click on the Save button to create the account. A confirmation screen displays updates completion.
Delete alias email address
To delete an alias email, you must designate a default reply address with the same email address type. For example, suppose you want to delete the SMTP Addie@traccreations.onmicrosoft.com alias account, the current primary sender reply address. First, you must update another SMTP account as the reply address account, then delete SMTP email address.
Here are the complete steps to delete an alias.

From the left navigation, select Mailboxes, then select the user’s name. The user profile will appear. Select the profile’s Mailbox tab and choose Manage Email Address Types. Note: The email address will show the assigned account as the primary sender, which may differ from the primary mailbox account.
Click on the Edit icon associated with the alias account to make your default sender reply address. Press Ok to accept settings.
Click on the Delete icon to the desired alias account. You do not have a restore
