Microsoft Teams suggests replies to common questions or statements for new messages in a group chat. Users do not have to waste time composing a simple message. Once a chat message arrives, suggestions appear near the conversation, and you choose the best one. Users either love it or hate it. This tutorial focuses on turning off the suggested replies feature.
Steps to Disable Suggested Replies
However, some users prefer to compose their own messages. To disable the feature, you can follow the steps for both Teams Windows and Online versions.
- Open Teams
- Select the Settings icon in the purple area of the top menu
- Choose General and scroll to the bottom and uncheck Show suggested replies in chat
- Note: Follow these same steps to enable this feature should you change your mind.
